Sugar House Island, taking its name from the 19th Century brick warehouse building that formed part of a sugar refinery, is a community-focussed development by Vastint. The site focuses not just on providing homes, but a community within the area bounded by the Three Mills Wall River and the River Lea in Stratford.
Vastint UK is set to deliver 58,000 m² office space bringing 2,500 jobs to the area, 1,200 homes, three acres of open space including a riverside park, as well as many independent restaurants, cafés and shops. Sugar House Island’s thriving community already includes over 600 residents, office tenants, a two-form entry Primary school and the UK’s first national Talent House for urban culture.
Sugar House Island is a waterside development located in Stratford east London, just a stone’s throw away from the Olympic Park. The site sits among the calming waterways of the River Lea and Three Mills Wall River.
