Become Carbon Neutral

We define Net Zero pathways for buildings and business, setting you on course to achieve Carbon Neutral.

For buildings, we carry out Carbon Life Cycle Assessments to determine both embodied carbon and operational carbon emissions.

For those striving to lead their industry on climate impact, our Net Zero Consultancy will set you on the right path. We demystify your carbon emissions with our robust process.

Step 1

Measure

Step 2

Reduce

Step 3

Offset & Certify
Our aim is to provide you with a roadmap that maximises carbon reduction opportunities. This limits future offset requirements in future years. Where balancing is required via offsets, we explain your options to ensure offsetting aligns with your companies goals and aspirations.

We benefit from our established partner services and long standing experience to enable the outcome of the carbon consultancy to 'happen'. We can assist with the practicalities of:

Why Net Zero Carbon Neutral

The Paris Agreement on climate change

The Paris Agreement is an international treaty on climate change. Its overarching goal is to hold "the increase in the global average temperature to well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels" and pursue efforts "to limit the temperature increase to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels." - emissions need to be reduced by 45% by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050.

However, in recent years, world leaders have stressed the need to limit global warming to 1.5°C by the end of this century.

That's because the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change indicates that crossing the 1.5°C threshold risks unleashing far more severe climate change impacts, including more frequent and severe droughts, heatwaves and rainfall.

To limit global warming to 1.5°C, greenhouse gas emissions must peak before 2025 at the latest and decline 43% by 2030.

The UK ambition

On the 12th November 2024 at COP29, the Prime Minister announced the UK's ambitious and credible NDC target to reduce all greenhouse gas emissions by at least 81% by 2035, compared to 1990 levels.

How can business help?

Businesses play a pivotal role in the Net Zero transition, not only by driving innovation and investment but also by decarbonising their operations and investing in the low-carbon solutions needed to transform their sectors and supply chains to delivery systemic change. They are also at the forefront of developing and deploying transformative low-carbon technologies, from renewable energy solutions to nature based approaches. With more than 90% of global GDP now covered by Net Zero targets and a growing demand for low-carbon products, services and supply chains, buinesses are uniquely positioned to lead this.

Seven Net Zero Carbon Neutral Certification

Calculate

We adhere to the Internationally recognised standard for climate change management, ISO 14064 and Carbon Neutrality ISO14068.

ISO14064 details principles and requirements for designing, developing, managing and reporting organisational level green house gas emissions, removals as well as auditing and verification activities.

ISO14068 addresses green house gas quantification, reporting, validation and verification. ISO14068 has been produced to aid the transition to Net Zero.

You may be looking to gain certification for a product, a service or your business. Within your business activities, you may be looking to include scope, 1, 2 or 3 emissions within your certification.

Whatever the level of certification, we'll work to understand your workflows and consumptions to indentify your emissions and opportunities.

Reduce

Understanding your workflows and consumptions enables us to identify how you can best reduce carbon emissions and set in place your carbon reduction pathway. The pathway can be determined by changes to practice, systems, assets, mobility or procurement. The carbon reduction pathway will identify the steps and possible projects required to reduce your carbon footprint in the future. The aim is to reduce your future offsetting requirements.

Balance / Compensate and Certify

Establishing your carbon footprint enables you to take action to become Carbon Neutral. We work with accredited and independently verified carbon projects under the worlds original carbon standard, plan vivo. We'll explain the various offsetting projects available from nature based projects to renewable energy projects to ensure the carbon offsetting / compensation strategy aligns with your requirements.

Showcase your positive impact

After compensating for your business' carbon footprint, we enter the reporting process. In this phase, you can demonstrate and report on your nature positive impacts and reduced carbon footprint to engage your teams, customers and stakeholders.

After compensating for your carbon footprint, you will receive:

IMPACT REPORT: This will show your emissions for a period or project and progress towards reducing your carbon footprint and the projects you purchased carbon units from

CARBON UNIT CERTIFICATE: This certificate will show your company logo, the tonnes of emissions compensated for, the offsetting period and the certificate number

CARBON COMPENSATED OR CARBON NEUTRAL BADGE: For use on communications material to show that you are certified carbon neutral or that you have compensated for your carbon emissions.

Carbon Pricing.

There are many ways to value a carbon unit, and many factors influence the price of carbon units, such as the type of project, the project location, the projects co-benefits, verification, vintage and factors such as supply and demand and buyer preference. We can walk you through the options to ensure the offsetting meets your requirements.
